Before joining NCMIC in 2012, Lori worked as a nurse for 30 years.  In addition, Lori has worked as an emergency room nurse manager, and she and her husband previously owned a business where they taught employees at industrial companies basic life support and emergency care techniques. This combined background enables Lori to share hands-on tips and guidance to DCs as they face the ever-changing world of healthcare. How to Identify and Handle Medical Emergencies in Your Practice

This presentation will cover the doctor’s response to cardiac, diabetic, seizure disorder, patient emergencies in the office. Emphasis will be placed on identification of symptoms, emergency response, and documentation. Topics such as staff training, utilization of family members, and overall doctor responsibility will be discussed.
