The NYSCA, in conjunction with the acupuncturists, massage therapists, physical therapist and occupational therapists, has worked with the NY legislature to submit legislation that recommends consideration and prescription of conservative care treatments, including chiropractic prior to prescribing opioid analgesics for neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
The bill is A8256/S5867 sponsored by Assemblyman Richard Gottfried and Senator Gustavo Rivera. The bill is currently on the Assembly Health Committee agenda.
