New NYSCA Committee on Chiropractic Science, Philosophy and Art

In an exciting development for the profession, NYSCA President Dr. Anthony Palumbo has announced the creation of a new NYSCA Committee on Chiropractic Science, Philosophy, and Art. After his term as President concludes on May 31, 2025, Dr. Palumbo will chair this committee with the goal of fostering collaborative dialogue among chiropractors and chiropractic students of all backgrounds and alma maters.

A key highlight of this initiative is the involvement of Northeast College of Health Sciences. Northeast College has agreed to work together with the new NYSCA committee to help provide a forum where chiropractors and students can openly explore their varied perspectives and opinions related to New York state scope of practice. Additionally, the Northeast College Doctor of Chiropractic program will partner with NYSCA to develop further continuing education opportunities in these areas and offer interested students the chance to participate in NYSCA-led discussions.

“Our profession often engages passionately in conversations about the ‘science,’ ‘philosophy,’ and ‘art’ of chiropractic,” noted Dr. Palumbo. “We sometimes focus on the nuances of this and forget our vast agreement in these areas. My hope is that this committee will serve as a big, open space for us to discuss our differences in a way that ultimately brings us closer together - helping us collaborate more effectively as a profession.

“The NYSCA, and especially its Board of Directors, is laser-focused on making New York a state where every chiropractor can thrive, with the support and respect they deserve,” Dr. Palumbo added. “We believe this new committee will be an important part of that vision, fostering unity and growth for chiropractors across the state.”
