2018 Permanent Impairment Guidelines for Schedule Loss of Use Evaluations

The Workers’ Compensation Board has finalized the new Schedule Loss of Use Impairment Guidelines after consideration of much input from a variety of stake holders, including health care professionals.

Note that this does not impact your permanency evaluation or reporting of patients suffering from neck or back disability. More specifically, the Non-scheduled Permanent Impairment Guidelines we currently use remain unchanged to date.

How does this impact our profession?

As the NYSCA continues to work to modernize our scope of practice to be aligned with both our education and that enjoyed by the majority if our brethren in other states, we must remain informed of guidelines which will impact the care of our patients, such as extremity conditions.

Wishing you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2018,
NYSCA Insurance Committee
