The New York LLC Transparency Act takes effect on January 1, 2026, but recent changes have significantly limited its scope.
Due to a governor’s veto, the reporting requirements now apply only to limited liability companies that are organized outside of the United States and authorized to do business in New York. Professional corporations and LLCs formed in New York are not subject to these requirements. As a result, most chiropractic practices are unlikely to be affected.
Members with unique business structures or questions should consult their legal or tax advisors for guidance.
